Dave Hewlett is an independent blues/rock artist based out of central Pennsylvania. His music journey started at the age of 13 in upstate New York where he fell in love with guitar after watching the movie “School of Rock”. His early influences were Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, and especially Eddie Van Halen. As time went on, Dave grew to appreciate more blues and roots music after discovering the stylings of Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Mayer. 

His most recent album “Home”, produced by executive producer Troy Nonnemacher of Mach Brothers Music, is very much a representation of these artists combined, but with Dave’s own flavors added in. It was put together by real musicians, playing live instruments, in real time. In the age of artificial intelligence, it's good to note the skill and effort of the entire collaboration and to take time to appreciate the inspiring levels of human creativity throughout. The album is also a reflection of Dave's lifetime struggle of trying to evade God’s presence, and inevitably finding a way back "home" to Him. It brings a message of hope to the hopeless. It shines a light on the darkness.

Dave has also been the lead guitarist for independent Christian artist, The Ally J Band, since 2021. His most notable work with them can be found on the studio recordings of “Trust in You” and “Jesus Shine Through”. During his time playing for the Ally J Band, he has played on the same stage as renowned Christian artist Ben Fuller multiple times. His guitar work can also be found on several tracks released by Judah Creed Records, including “No Way” and “Remind Me” by Anthony Morris.
